Guide for Parades, Fireworks, and Shows

Magic Kingdom

Picture
Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Ferry Boat
For parade and show schedules posted weekly for each park, visit Walt Disney World Entertainment or as you enter each park, pick up a Times Guide.

Parades: The Magic Kingdom has several areas along the parade route for guests with disabilities to watch the parade. These areas are indicated on the park’s map but be aware that space may fill up quickly.  Our favorite disability location to watch the Celebrate a Dream Come True daytime parade and the Main Street Electrical Parade is in Liberty Square across from the Hall of Presidents.  If your child has trouble waiting for the parade, you may want to stand near the beginning of the parade route. This minimizes the wait time. The park map will indicate where the parade begins since the daytime parade may start where the nighttime parade ends and vice versa.
Fireworks show:  To really get the full effect of the Wishes fireworks show at Magic Kingdom, it is best to view it from Main Street USA in front of Cinderella's Castle. However, we need to avoid the larger crowds and noise from the fireworks whenever possible. As a result, we leave the park and board the Ferry boat right before Wishes starts. The Ferry boat will broadcast the music from the fireworks show and the view is great. The explosions from the fireworks are not as startling to our son and he really enjoys this experience. If the show doesn’t finish before you get off the boat, you can stand in the ferry boat landing at the transportation and ticketing center and still hear and see the show fairly well. We’ve also been told that watching Wishes from the Polynesian Village Beach or from the Contemporary Hotel public balcony is a great experience too.
Castle Shows:  We stand near the Castle Forecourt but on the outside edge of the audience area for the Dream Along With Mickey show. As a result, we can make a quick exit if needed. Check the show schedule as you enter the park for sign language interpretation times and locations if you need this assistance.
Live Performances: Additional live performances occur throughout the Magic Kingdom including the following daily shows. Verify show times and locations with the Times Guide or www.wdwent.com:

Fantasmic: Hollywood Studios’ spectacular fireworks show is a must-see experience.  We use our GAP and are able to sit in specially marked areas around the stadium that provide a great view of the show. The show is loud and has some scary parts including villains and fire in the lake.
